In your opinion should smart kids have their own classrooms or schools like Stuyvesant or Bronx Science? Why or why not?

I believe they should. Why? Because those students that are in those specialized schools tried their hardest in school, they deserve to go to a school where they aren't being distracted by foolishness, they don't deserve to go to a school where there are fights every day or the subjects being taught are too easy for them and they're cant reach their full potential. If I had tried my hardest in middle school I would've gone to Bronx science, that school is beautiful and full of intelligent people. Smart kids deserve to go to a school that pushes them to be smarter and if you can pass their expectations then you deserve to go.

My claim - Students should be able to attend specialized schools
counterclaim - Students not meeting the schools criteria and getting rejected.

  1. Ok. You stated your claim well, but I think you are still confused about counterclaim. Counterclaim= what someone disagreeing with you would say. So one counterclaim to your argument might be: All students should be given an opportunity to go to a school that pushes them to be smarter because if you believe in the mindset theory, intelligence is not fixed; you have to push yourself to grow.
